General information
Welcome to the AIM Healthcare Hackathon Vienna 2026. This guide has everything you need for the two days: the schedule, your track, your team, how to submit and which tools you get.
Venue
IBM Austria, Obere Donaustraße 95, 1020 Vienna. Check-in is at the IBM reception on the ground floor on Thursday, 29 October from 16:00. Bring a photo ID. You get a visitor badge there.
House rules at IBM
We are guests in an office building, so a few rules apply.
- Wear your visitor badge visibly the whole time.
- Stay in the rooms we use. IBM staff are with us the whole time.
- On Thursday, be inside the building before 18:00. The reception lets nobody in after that.
- The building closes on Thursday at about 22:00, when the last IBM staff leave. There is no all-nighter. Take your laptop and valuables with you when you go.
- On Friday the building opens at 09:00 and we leave after the closing at about 19:00.
What to bring
Your laptop and its charger, and a photo ID for the reception. Power and wifi are at every seat. You do not need to bring anything else.
Food and drinks
Food and drinks are provided on both days, on Thursday evening and through Friday. The catering is financed by the StV Postgraduale of the ÖH Med Wien. If you have a dietary requirement, tell us at the check-in desk.
Teams
Teams have at most five members. You can still switch teams or add members on site. When you submit, you name all members of your team again, so the submission counts, not the list in this guide.
Winners
There are three winners per track. After the submission deadline on Friday at 15:00, the jury reviews all submissions and picks the top three teams per track. Only those teams pitch on stage at 16:00.

Tracks
There are three tracks. Each one has a repository with the task, the data, the metrics and how the jury scores. Read the README of your track first. It is short.
To start hacking, clone the repository of your track. Then create your own repository for your code.
Track 1: Clinical Documentation
With IBM Austria. The repository is private because it contains IBM's data. You need a token to clone it. We post the token in Discord (https://discord.gg/NyhXXc8dq). Put it into this command in place of TOKEN:
git clone https://TOKEN@github.com/AIM-Austria/TRACK-1-clinical-documentation.git
Do not publish the data. Keep the data folder out of your own repository.
Track 2: Health Data Interoperability
With FTAPI.
git clone https://github.com/AIM-Austria/TRACK-2-interoperability.git
Track 3: European Health Data Space
git clone https://github.com/AIM-Austria/TRACK-3-ehds.git
Rules for all tracks
- Use only synthetic data. All data in the repositories is synthetic.
- Cloud AI services are fine, for the same reason.
- Your own repository is public when you submit. Track 1 teams leave the data folder out of it.

This is the team list as of Thursday morning, built from your registrations. It is a starting point. You can still switch teams or add members on site. When you submit, you name all members of your team again, and that list counts.

The jury reviews all submissions and picks the top three teams per track. Those teams pitch at 16:00.
Tools and access
Devin by Cognition
Everyone gets a Devin Max plan from Cognition, worth 200 USD. Miki Huber from Cognition stands at the entrance of the venue and activates the accounts. Go to him if you want to use Devin.
How it works:
- Check in first. Your account is activated after check-in.
- Go to https://trydevin.ai and claim the plan with the email address of your Luma account, the one you got your hackathon ticket with. Your Devin account has to use exactly that address, otherwise the activation does not match.
- If you already have a paid Devin account, try applying the plan to it as extra usage credits. If you have a free account, redeem the Max plan on it like everyone else.
- If the code does not work on an existing account, create a new account with a different email address and tell Miki the new address and the old one.
WLAN
You use the IBM guest WLAN. The access details were sent to you by email.
AI services
Cloud AI services are allowed. All data in the track repositories is synthetic, so there is no patient data to protect. Use your own accounts and keys.
